Born in the end of the eighties, Barkan expanded up to the point of being nowadays the second producer of the country, a position reinforced by the asset of the old-timer Segal which still operates independantly.
Generally good value for money, the wines of Barkan are released under many labels, among which I isolated three "stable" collections : Reserve, Classic & Village. I didn't have the luck to sample the top line : "Supérieur".
I wasn't so much impressed by the efforts wwith the still exotic here Syrah & pinot-noir.
Barkan is an active sponsor of the popular TV cooking program "
Teamim" (tastes) which I enjoy every week-end.
