FRANCE - AUGUST 2000
Imagine three hungry and thirsty israeli families settling down for a week in the very heart of Alsace. We found the ideal place at www.klur.net.
First "Klur" is a relatively small winery, the best way to get initiated to the tradition of wine in Alsace. Second, the place, Katzenthal, is ideally located : 5 mn from Colmar, in the very heart of the "Route des Vins", close to the treasures that are Turckheim, Eguisheim and Riquewihr. Third, Francine Klur arranged the appartments with the taste and the talent of an artist. All this makes that after 5 mn there, you feel already light-years away from your daily routine and being a fanatic of Alsace.
There were too many kids in order to think seriously about restaurants, so every one had to contribute by his own culinary talents to the common diners. A good occasion to introduce some curiosities we don't find in Israel : rabbit, guinea fowl, wild truits, mad cowed but delicious Charolais and more...
In the average, we "tasted" three to four wines by diner, my collegues bringing much Bordeaux, as I tried to make them discover also the juice from Burgundy, Rhone and other regions...
